Living in a dust bowl

Well the builders have left the building and we are left with enormous amounts of dust.  Dust everywhere!  Dust inside, dust outside, dust on my skin, dust in our beds, on our food......you get the picture.  No matter how many times we sweep and vacuum, the dust just reappears.  I am on a countdown to the end.  10 days and we should be moving our stuff into our kitchen, dining and living room once and for all.  Yesterday I moved all of our stuff, one more time, from the downstairs up to the deck where we are now "living" or shall I say camping for the next 10 days.  Thank god we decided to cover most of the deck.  So this is where we stand 7 days away from the flooring finally arriving and 10 days away from the install of the kitchen.

Light At The End Of The Tunnel

Heaps of progress this week with the Gib board installed and the balustrade for the deck on, cladding complete and voila!  Of course we aren't without a few minor disasters.  The flooring company mistakenly does not actually have our product in stock because their boxes are labelled incorrectly and the product inside is not what it says it is.  Wouldn't you check the shipment when it arrives to make sure it is correct?  Apparently not, but in light of this discovery they have kindly offered us a free mop while we wait an additional 2 to 3 weeks for the correct product to arrive.  I very nicely told them where they can stuff their mop as we go homeless once again waiting for the bamboo to arrive so Pete can install it so that the kitchen can be fitted at which stage we can finally move in which will be approximately November never it seems!  Not good.  Next week comes plastering and finishing off the landing for the deck and stairs and then on to painting.  After that we will sit in our big empty new room and wait for the flooring to arrive.  Happy days.
